Payroll Administrator

Location: Leeds (Office-Based)
Salary: £27,000 – £30,000

We’re recruiting for a well-established commercial waste management company that is currently seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join their team in Leeds.

The Role

As the Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for delivering both weekly and monthly payrolls from start to finish for all employees. This is a key position within the business, requiring strong attention to detail and a confident, methodical approach.

Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Administrator

• Accurately process weekly and monthly payrolls

• Set up new starters and process leavers correctly

• Maintain employee records across TMS and Sage

• Manage weekly agency timesheets and hours

• Record holidays and sickness in TMS

• Update tax codes, deductions, and student loans via HMRC

• Submit RTI and e-submissions to HMRC in a timely manner

• Generate and send payroll reports to the accounts department

• Post payroll journals and intercompany journals into ERP system 200

• Administer pension schemes including auto-enrolment and company pensions

• Calculate SMP, SPP, AOE, DWP, and CSA payments

• Handle payroll queries and correct wage errors where needed

• Sign off agency invoices and maintain cost analysis reports

• Accurately update wage changes and staff variations in both TMS and Sage
