Salary: £32,000 – £41,000 per annum + overtime, travel time, and out-of-hours retainer fees
With a £1,000 joining bonus*, total earnings can reach up to £50,000 per year (base salary plus overtime and bonuses). A company vehicle, uniform, test equipment, laptop, mobile phone, and additional benefits are also provided.
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fire Service and Maintenance Engineer to join a motivated and successful team. This role focuses primarily on delivering PPM servicing, repairing life safety systems, and supporting all relevant health and safety requirements across a range of sites.

About the Organisation
This organisation is a leading national provider of fire safety, security, and electrical services within the Social Housing sector. Due to recent contract wins, we are expanding our team and looking for experienced engineers to carry out installation, testing, inspection, and repairs.

Key Responsibilities
You will maintain, fault-find, install, and commission a range of systems including:
Fire alarms
Automatic Opening Vents (AOVs)
CCTV
Access control
Warden call systems
Fire extinguishers
Additional duties include:
Completing accurate service reports
Reporting system deficiencies or deviations
Maintaining emergency lighting systems and other safety equipment
Conducting regular van stock checks and coordinating with supervisors/procurement to maintain inventory
Maintaining a proactive Health & Safety approach and reporting risks promptly
Completing first-time fixes wherever possible
Ideal Candidate Profile
Flexible approach to working a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, with opportunities for additional earnings through weekend work and participation in an out-of-hours rota
Full UK driving licence
Previous experience with analogue addressable and conventional fire alarm systems
FIA training (or equivalent) to BS5839-1 Fundamentals
Strong understanding of BS5839 (Parts 1 and 6 in particular)
Good IT literacy
Strong understanding of workplace Health & Safety regulations
