Job Opportunity: Fire & Security Engineer
Location: Covering North West and Yorkshire
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role
We are seeking a Fire & Security Engineer to join our team, responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding of Fire and Security Systems. The role covers a regional area, primarily across the North West and Yorkshire, with minimal long-distance travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Servicing Fire and Security Systems including:
Intruder Alarms
Access Control
CCTV
Fire Alarm Systems (both addressable and conventional panels)
Commissioning of systems (following training)
Fault finding and diagnostics across the systems listed above
Communicating effectively with customers and colleagues
Participation in an on-call rota (approximately 1 in 7 weeks)
Use of company-provided laptop and mobile phone
Skills and Experience
Essential:
Experience in servicing, maintaining and fault finding on:
Fire Alarm Systems
CCTV
Intruder Alarms
Access Control
Refuge intercoms
Full UK driving licence
Able to pass security screening
Desirable (Training Provided if Needed):
Fire: Notifier, Gent, Advanced, Morley, C-Tec, Kentec
Intruder: Galaxy, Texecom
Access Control: Paxton, Inner Range, PAC
CCTV: Hikvision, Bosch, Dahua, Pelco
Salary and Benefits
Competitive salary (based on experience)
Additional earnings available through:
Overtime
Work outside normal hours
Participation in on-call rota
On-call standby rate above current industry rates
Travel time paid after 30 minutes each way
Time and a half paid after 40 hours
Double time paid after 12pm on Saturdays and all-day Sundays
Company vehicle (with personal use) and fuel card
Company laptop and mobile phone
Paid referral scheme – up to £500 per successful candidate (no limit on referrals)
