A leading opportunity for an experienced fire and security engineer to step into a Team Leader position. This role involves managing and supporting service operations across planned maintenance, reactive calls, and remedial works, ensuring full compliance with British Standards and current legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support engineers in delivering maintenance, fault-finding, and remedial services.
  • Act as a technical point of escalation and mentor for junior and trainee engineers.
  • Deputise for the Regional Service Manager during periods of absence.
  • Carry out service and installation handovers, troubleshoot complex sites, and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Complete service visits efficiently, ensuring a high standard of professionalism and customer communication.
  • Maintain van stock to maximise first-time fix rates.
  • Identify non-conformances during service visits and report recommendations to the service desk.
  • Assist the estimating team with technical input during the quotation process.
  • Support in the delivery of small bespoke projects.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours escalation rota and overtime when required.
  • Complete company documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Key Requirements

Technical Competencies:

  • Extensive experience in delivering maintenance, callouts, and remedial works across fire, security, and related disciplines.
  • Systematic approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors and risks quickly.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to engage professionally with clients, suppliers, and team members at all levels.

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Proven industry experience and demonstrated technical competence.
  • In-depth understanding of British Standards (e.g., BS5839, SP203, SSAIB).
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous supervisory or mentoring experience is desirable.

Working Relationships

You will collaborate with internal teams including service desk, technical managers, stores, operations, and engineering managers, as well as liaise with external stakeholders such as customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and auditors.

Training and Development

  • Attend required training sessions and identify areas for personal development.
  • Participate in the internal engineering academy to support and mentor team members.
