About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Commercial Gas Engineer & Plumber to join our team, covering parts of the North West, Yorkshire, and the Midlands. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, servicing, and repair of commercial gas systems, boilers, heating systems, and plumbing infrastructure across a variety of commercial properties, including offices, schools, healthcare facilities, retail premises, industrial sites, and public buildings.
This is a field-based role, and you will not be expected to come into the office unless for a meeting, which will be communicated in advance.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, service, and repair commercial gas appliances and heating systems (e.g., boilers, burners, warm air heaters, and associated plant).
Carry out plumbing and pipework installations, including hot/cold water systems, drainage, and sanitary ware.
Diagnose faults and perform effective repairs on gas and plumbing systems.
Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across commercial sites.
Complete gas safety checks, issue certificates, and maintain accurate service records.
Ensure compliance with Gas Safe, Health & Safety, and industry regulations.
Liaise with clients, site managers, and colleagues to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Respond to emergency call-outs as required.
Provide technical advice and support to apprentices or junior engineers.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Valid Commercial Gas Qualifications (COCN1, CODNCO1, CIGA1, CORT1, ICPN1, CDGA1, TPCP1/1A, etc.).
Gas Safe Registration (Commercial).
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent).
Proven experience working on commercial properties.
Full UK driving licence (must not have more than 6 points due to insurance reasons).
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Must be happy to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Desirable (Preferred) Skills
Experience with HVAC systems, BMS controls, and renewable heating technologies.
Certification in Unvented Hot Water Systems (G3).
IPAF or PASMA certification.
Basic electrical knowledge or 18th Edition certification.
Salary
£43,000 - £45,000 per year (negotiable depending on experience).
