About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and qualified Commercial Electrician to cover various projects across the North West, Midlands, and Yorkshire. The successful candidate will be working across a range of commercial properties, including offices, schools, healthcare facilities, retail premises, industrial sites, and public buildings. They will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, servicing, and repair of electrical systems in these environments.
Installation & Maintenance
Install wiring, sockets, lighting, and electrical panels in commercial buildings.
Maintain and repair systems to prevent downtime and hazards.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure all work complies with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations).
Conduct inspections and testing to certify installations.
Collaboration
Work alongside contractors, engineers, and project managers.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting during construction or refurbishment projects.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
18th Edition Wiring Regulation (BS 7671).
City & Guilds 239/2394/2395 – Inspection and Testing.
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
JIB/ECS Card.
SSSTS qualification (preferred).
SMSTS qualification (preferred).
BPSS security clearance (preferred).
IPAF or PASMA certification.
MUST have a valid driving licence.
Must be happy to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Pay
£18.34 per hour (overtime paid at time and a half).
Rate negotiable depending on experience, but based on JIB rates.
Work Environment
Projects across the North West, Midlands, and Yorkshire, including schools, hospitals, shopping centres, offices, and MOD sites.
Work may involve indoor and outdoor settings, sometimes at height or in confined spaces.
Hours are usually Monday–Friday, with on-call rotas for emergencies.
